Domaine de Vedilhan Viognier, Pays d’Oc 2015

Domaine Vedilhan Viognier

Domaine de Vedilhan (pronounced ‘Ved-ee-ohn’) is the estate of the Fayet family based in the village of Moussan close to Narbonne. The property is quite unique in that there is a natural brook running around the outskirts which provides natural irrigation to give much needed water. This gives the wines their freshness and appeal; keeping the vines cool in a very hot climate. Vines are managed using the lutte raisonée method (essentially a minimal intervention approach to vinegrowing) resulting in grapes of great purity and tipicity. This is a rich and perfumed white wine which pairs perfectly with Thai or fusion food or even creamy sauce based dishes. Lots of tropical fruit flavours here – peach, apricot, pineapple and mango – all kept fresh with balancing acidity.
